This is the guy I’m really excited about in the 2022 class not named Katin Houser. Germie Bernard is going to be that dude in 2022 and beyond.

The former Washington commit was actually flipped really late by Mel Tucker and the Spartans, joining the likes of Ma’a Gaoteote and Caleb Coley as some of the impressive players he’s stolen from other schools right before signing day. He was one of the Huskies’ top commits and fans were excited about him dominating in Seattle and reviving that offense. He decided to join Michigan State’s intriguing offense with his friend Katin instead.

Bernard enrolled early and the No. 237 recruit from the 2022 class is going to crack that two-deep in year one, in my opinion.

Michigan State’s receiving corps is extremely solid, but it’s relying more on talent than actual experience which is why I believe Bernard has a good shot to see the field as a freshman.

The starters will be Jayden Reed, Tre Mosley, and Keon Coleman, but the Spartans don’t have anyone really locked in as No. 2 behind each of these guys. Montorie Foster, Christian Fitzpatrick, and Terry Lockett are the early favorites, but I’d put my money on Bernard cracking that group.
