Michigan State football has been on Cole Dellinger’s radar for quite some time and he’s about to make his decision on Friday.

Would you believe it if I told you that there were some fans growing “impatient” over the lack of recruiting news surrounding Michigan State football over the past week?

Yes, that’s how spoiled some of us have become.

But that could soon change as Michigan State is awaiting the fate of four-star top-100 defensive end Bai Jobe on Thursday and also four-star lineman Cole Dellinger on Friday.

Dellinger is a name that we haven’t exactly heard in a while, but he listed a top three of Michigan State, LSU, and Purdue. He visited Michigan State and LSU back in March during spring ball and it feels like those two are the leaders with Purdue on the outside looking in.

But are the Spartans the leaders here? It’s hard to say. Michigan State holds the crystal ball lead on 247Sports but most of those predictions are way too old to really put too much stock into. Plus, his brother Garrett Dellinger is a sophomore who is expected to start at left tackle for LSU this fall. Reuniting with his brother could be a huge draw to Baton Rouge.

Plus, Michigan State had prioritized other offensive linemen in the class more, but there’s talk that there would still be room for Dellinger.

I’d say this one is a toss-up between LSU and Michigan State with the Spartans holding that slight edge heading into the Friday decision.

A Dellinger commitment could set off a domino effect on the offensive line with spots filling up. This could lead to guys like Payton Kirkland, Miles McVay, and Chase Bisontis committing in the near future to Mel Tucker’s Spartans.
