Michigan State football is hoping to land four-star defensive end Bai Jobe on Thursday as he is set to make a college decision.

A week after announcing a top three of Alabama, Oklahoma, and Michigan State football, four-star defensive end Bai Jobe is set to make a college decision on July 7.

The Spartans are considered the favorites to land Jobe who took an official visit on June 17 and only had one other official to Vanderbilt. He didn’t list Vanderbilt or Miami in his top three which surprised just about everyone because they were presumed to be in his top three along with Michigan State.

But the fact that they missed the cut and he added two teams that hadn’t exactly prioritized him could hint to the fact that Michigan State leads here.

Michigan State has to feel good here, especially with him making this announcement before seeing his other top schools in official visit fashion. He is one of those raw prospects who could legitimately be a superstar in the 2023 class and he kind of already is.

In fact, MSU 247Sports insider Corey Robinson said that Jobe has the tools to become the best pass rusher in the entire 2023 class.

Talk about some high praise.

But with his decision coming on Thursday and Michigan State just missing out on a pair of four-star linebacker brothers to UCF on Wednesday, will the Spartans regain momentum with the commitment of Jobe?

If I were to bet, I’d say Michigan State lands him over Oklahoma and Alabama and he becomes the highest-ranked commit in the Mel Tucker era. All signs have been pointing to the Spartans leading here and the opportunity to be coached by one of the best pass-rushing specialists in the country as a raw prospect has to be unbelievably tempting.

The nation’s No. 64 overall prospect commits at “4 p.m.” on Thursday evening which likely means 5 p.m. ET since he’s in Oklahoma which is the Central Time Zone. I expect him to be donning green and white by 5:03 p.m. ET.
