1. A late Payton Thorne touchdown pass seals the win

Payton Thorne is facing a solid passing defense in Bloomington on Saturday that held Bailey Zappe, Sean Clifford, and Desmond Ridder to their lowest passing totals on the season.

And he may actually have a rough game here, but I don’t see him throwing many — if any — interceptions. I just think he’ll be forced to throw a lot of passes away because of good coverage and Jayden Reed and Jalen Nailor will be held in check by double coverage all afternoon.

Thorne will have the game-winning touchdown pass, however. With the Spartans up 21-17, Thorne will step back and hit Reed on a 40-yard deep ball to give Michigan State a 28-17 lead in the fourth quarter that will ultimately slam the door on the Hoosiers.

Indiana may go down and score a touchdown late to make things interesting, but I believe that Thorne will shut the door with his massive touchdown to Reed in the fourth.

Michigan State wins a narrow one and improves to 7-0.
