1. Michigan State enters Michigan game 7-0

If I were to tell you before the season that Michigan State would go into the Michigan game undefeated at 7-0, you probably would have laughed at me relentlessly. But it’s actually a real possibility at this point.

The Spartans have begun the season 4-0 with wins at Northwestern and Miami while holding on to beat Nebraska in an ugly battle in East Lansing. They also beat Youngstown State handily, but that was always expected. Now Michigan State has momentum and is ranked No. 17 in the country as we get ready to start the month of October and a 7-0 start isn’t out of the question.

Michigan State is going to sneak by a really good Western Kentucky team, win a tough one on the road against Rutgers, and take a defensive battle against Indiana en route to a 7-0 record.

Michigan awaits on the final Saturday of the month, the day before Halloween, and this could end up being a top-10 battle in East Lansing. Who wins? My gut tells me Michigan State, but we’ll have to wait and see. This is going to be one heck of a game.
