Michigan State Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
Looking at this one, it should be a clear Michigan State win, but things are much more difficult to predict than that. Pat Fitzgerald seems to always have a team ready for Michigan State and this year will be no different — don’t listen to his press conferences where he says his team will be easy to game plan for.
The Wildcats are starting former Clemson quarterback Hunter Johnson and although he’s been really bad throughout his career, he did enough to prove that he might just be back. But the Wildcats got worse from last season’s Big Ten West title team and Michigan State got better.
Slight edge to the Spartans.
Final Score: Michigan State 27, Northwestern 23 (1-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
Youngstown State should be a sure win for the Spartans, but seeing Mark Dantonio hanging out with Jim Tressel (the school’s president) this summer in Youngstown gave me some bad vibes.
I still think Michigan State wins but if they don’t or at least struggle with the Penguins, this can all be traced back to Dantonio hanging out with Tressel (kidding, sort of).
Final Score: Youngstown State 13, Michigan State 38 (2-0)
