Quavaris Crouch came to Tennessee a few years ago as a four-star running back recruit and one of the best prospects in the nation. He decided to make the change to linebacker in order to help with longevity and he’s had an up-and-down couple of seasons at his new position.

Crouch is probably just in need of the right coaching and Michigan State is a perfect fit.

The Spartans have a couple of elite defensive minds in Mel Tucker and Scottie Hazelton who could help Crouch really complete that transition and become one of the best linebackers in the country. He’s already an elite athlete so that’s not a problem. He just needs to learn the ins and outs of the position and if he does that in 2021, the sky is the limit.

How did he fare in his two years at Tennessee? He was a starting linebacker and recorded 85 tackles, three tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. I’d love to see the staff utilize him more in blitz packages and have him get after opposing quarterbacks more.

If Xavier Henderson’s praise for Crouch is any indication of what to expect from the Tennessee transfer, I think he’s due for a big year.
