Quavaris Crouch was one of the final dominoes to fall in Michigan State football’s 2021 incoming transfer class and he was the player everyone had a feeling about but took the longest to make it official. The excitement was at an all-time high when he reportedly showed up to the MSU spring game.

The Tennessee linebacker transfer was once one of the best recruits in the country and decided to make a position switch from running back for the sake of his career longevity.

Through two years, the reviews have been mixed but people believe that he could be an all-conference linebacker with the right coaching. Luckily Scottie Hazelton is one of the best at what he does and the Spartans have some elite defensive minds to mold him into one of those stars at the position.

When you listen to Crouch’s new MSU teammates talk about him, the excitement begins to build again.

In fact, Xavier Henderson had this to say about Crouch which makes him look like an athletic freak.

Crouch is “pushing weight like it’s nothing” and “hitting 21 mph” on his GPS tracker for movement which Henderson claims he only hits maybe once a week? That’s a scary thought. This dude is a 6-2, 230-pound monster at linebacker.

Imagine a 230-pound monster barreling down on you with elite speed at linebacker. Yeah, running backs, receivers, tight ends, and quarterbacks are going to have nightmares.

Crouch should be Michigan State football’s LB1

Obviously, linebackers aren’t like receivers and there’s no position such as “LB1” on the depth chart, but if we are ranking all the players at the position on Michigan State’s roster, Crouch should be at the top.

Crouch is clearly a freak athlete and he’s impressed his teammates already and he’s only been on campus for a couple of months. Imagine how good he’ll be in this defense when he’s more comfortable.

Michigan State got an elite SEC talent to join the roster and Mel Tucker deserves a trophy for this.
