The amount of hype surrounding Keon Coleman heading into his freshman season at Michigan State is palpable. The talented dual-sport star was one of the most valued high school prospects in the country and even drew attention from a certain celebrity who follows sports.

Coleman is a four-star receiver from Louisiana who excelled at both basketball and football and who is sure to provide some excitement to both programs at Michigan State.

But his early impact is going to be felt more on the gridiron.

Coleman joins a relatively loaded receiving corps with guys like Jayden Reed, Jalen Nailor, Tre Mosley, Ricky White (hopefully), CJ Hayes, and Christian Fitzpatrick, so earning a starting job won’t be easy, but I’m certain that he has the talent to at the very least crack the two-deep early on.

We have to remember that Coleman is one of Tucker’s first big recruiting victories so he has the benefit of being recruited by the second-year coach and sought out by him. Other receivers who were already on the roster don’t have that. He could be given an early nod because he’s one of “Tucker’s guys”.

Plus, did I mention he’s supremely talented?
