Who wouldn’t want to land a tight end that was once committed to Notre Dame?

After decommitting from Notre Dame, Jack Nickel scheduled official visits to Cal, Virginia Tech, and Michigan State, and the Spartans emerged as the leader. Fast forward about a month after his official to Michigan State and that still seems to be the case as Mel Tucker and Co. made up some serious ground in this recruitment and look like the team to beat.

Nickel was committed to Notre Dame but Brian Kelly decided to take another tight end which caught him off guard and led to his decommitment. That was good news for Tucker who wanted him all along.

The Milton, Ga., three-star is ranked the No. 510 recruit in the class and the No. 24 tight end. He would join recent tight end commit Michael Masunas from Arizona if he were to join Michigan State’s 2022 class and those two would make a formidable duo.

Jay Johnson’s offense is starting to take shape and it could add Nickel by the end of July.
