Maryland presents a huge test for Michigan State basketball in its quest to make a run at an NCAA Tournament berth. Will the Spartans capture another W?

Two wins down, two to go. At least that’s what Andy Katz believes will surely get Michigan State into the NCAA Tournament.

Hopes for a tourney berth were dead just over a week ago, but three straight wins against teams likely to be in the Big Dance — minus maybe Indiana — have changed things. The Spartans are now 13-9 with a big game against Maryland on Sunday afternoon approaching.

If Michigan State wants to make a run at the NCAA Tournament, it will need to take cary of the red-hot Terrapins at Xfinity Center on Sunday.

Will Michigan State capture a fourth straight win?

3. Joshua Langford will have another double-double

Against Illinois, Joshua Langford had one of the best games of his Spartan career. His game was so impressive that our own Jack Williams even talked about it being one of the best outings any player has ever had under Tom Izzo. He’s not wrong.

In fact, Langford scored 15 points and made some big-time shots, but even more impressive was the fact that he secured 16 rebounds, a career-high.

Langford is probably one of the most underrated rebounding wings that Izzo has ever had and he seems to always time his jump perfectly and often beats out bigs for clutch rebounds. He’ll continue that on Sunday afternoon against one of the worst rebounding teams in the Big Ten.

The senior is going to follow up a shaky performance (minus a clutch jumper) against Ohio State with his second double-double in three games, grabbing 11 rebounds with 13 points.
