Keon Coleman is one of the best dual-sport athletes in the country and it looks like Michigan State football is making a serious push for him.

Keon Coleman is a name you’re going to hear a lot of until he commits to a new program. He is a four-star dual-sport athlete who just de-committed from Kansas last week and that opened the door for the schools who were hot on his trail beforehand.

Coleman is the No. 115 overall prospect in the nation and 14th-best receiver in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports, and he’s already being pursued by just about everyone.

A couple of days ago, I wrote about the need for Michigan State to get back into the running for Coleman who plans on playing basketball and not just football at the next level.

It looks like it’s already happening.

While this is a VIP article on 247Sports, the exact quote that’s used in the title shows that Michigan State is still making a strong effort in his recruitment. It’s unclear whether that quote is straight from Coleman, but one would be led to believe that.

If the Spartans are seriously making a push, that would mean Tom Izzo is getting involved, too. He has expressed the desire to play basketball in college and Izzo will need to be part of the recruitment. He could be a non-scholarship basketball player because he’d get one from football, but he’d be a welcomed guard addition.

An athletically-gifted 6-foot-4, 185-pound receiver who could fill a position of need for Mel Tucker in the fall and then aid Michigan State on the hardwood in November and beyond? Yes, please.
