3. Elijah Collins has 250 rushing yards

Everything we’ve heard this offseason from and about Elijah Collins has been positive. The sophomore running back has made a point of working on his speed and turning long runs into touchdown scampers.

Collins will also be rushing behind an improved offensive line.

These two factors should make him even more effective this season. He showed flashes of dominance last season and finished just 12 yards shy of 1,000 for the season which was crushing seeing as he deserved to hit that mark if it weren’t for a mediocre line.

The sophomore from Detroit has already admitted that he’s aiming for that 1,000-yard mark to become the first Spartan to reach it since Jeremy Langford in 2014. He just needs to average about 125 yards per game and through the first two weeks against Michigan and Rutgers, he will be on that pace.

Collins will rush for 150 yards against Rutgers and then another 100-yard game against Michigan. Two 100-yard games and over 250 total yards through two weeks? What a start.
