Swagger: Rocket Watts

Yes, this is definitely a completely unnecessary category and it pretty much has no measurable benefits on the basketball court. Regardless, I had to include Rocket Watts in here. At the very least, you can say that his alpha presence intimidates the other team, right?

The reason I added this slide was because Rocket does something that I haven’t seen in my 22 years as an MSU basketball fan: he makes me want to watch the game, even if we’re losing. Even if he’s not hitting his shots.

Rocket’s a great basketball player, but it’s the aura he carries with him that makes you love him as a player. From his style to the way he moves, dribbles, and shoots, he’s the coolest guy on the court at all times.

He came to MSU in the 2019 season, struggling at first but eventually becoming a key contributor by the end of the season. He averaged almost 20 points in the last three games before the season was canceled, giving hope to MSU fans that he’ll carry the torch that Cassius Winston left behind.
