This one was a toss-up between four-star offensive tackle Rayshaun Benny and four-star center Raheem Anderson from Cass Tech who just listed Michigan State in his top 11 this week.

I’m going with Benny here, though, because the Spartans could use some depth at the tackle positions and he should be an even higher priority because Mel Tucker just landed his teammate Davion Primm.

Yes, Michigan State’s first commitment in the 2021 class was the three-star running back from Oak Park and that could help the Spartans with Benny who recently named the Spartans as one of his top 14 teams — it was a loaded list.

Benny is ranked the No. 126 overall prospect and 16th-best offensive tackle in the class, according to the composite. He’s also the state’s No. 6 overall player and he’s being courted by just about everyone. Right now, the Spartans are likely to be in a battle with Michigan and Iowa has put some pressure on as well. Although a top schools list that includes Miami, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, LSU, Oregon and Tennessee will be tough to beat.

At 6-foot-5, 275 pounds and possessing good strength and quick feet for a kid his size, Benny will be a star at the next level.
