One of the most underrated signees in Michigan State’s 2020 class, Angelo Grose reminds some people of a Josiah Scott-type of cornerback. He wasn’t as highly-recruited as he should have been but he has the look of a future star in the secondary after earning a plethora of high school accolades and high praise from coaches and recruiting experts.

Grose isn’t the biggest cornerback, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing in at 170 pounds, but he has plenty of speed and he’s aggressive despite that slight frame.

Plus, the fact that Michigan State is bringing back elite defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett is a huge victory for the secondary. Grose is likely to improve drastically under Barnett’s tutelage and the fresh coaching staff could help him grow as a player.

As an early enrollee and the fact that he’s playing a position of need, Grose has an opportunity to make some noise early on and even climb up the depth chart.

Josh Butler and Scott are both gone so the nation’s No. 51 cornerback prospect could get a serious look.
