It’s been clamored about for weeks, but Michigan State football’s Ricky White has finally gotten a bump in the recruiting rankings.

Breaking school records and leading his team to a state championship as a senior, Ricky White looked like one of the best receivers not only in the state of Georgia, but in the entire nation for 2020.

However, White was just a three-star recruit and ranked somewhere in the 800-900 range nationally. He wasn’t touted as one of the best even though his play on the field said otherwise.

On Wednesday morning, however, he got a nice little bump from the Rivals250 rankings, pushing him all the way up to No. 226 in the nation and going from a three-star to a four-star.

The changes in the Rivals rankings have yet to reflect in the 247Sports Composite but this is a well-deserved bump after the season that he had. He was making a name for himself nationally and there was worry from the staff and fans that he would re-open his recruitment with an influx of new offers and interests.

This fourth star has been a long time coming, though. I spoke a month ago about this exact situation stating that it’s time to make White a four-star prospect. Well, Rivals listened and now it’s time for 247Sports and ESPN to follow suit.

White is going to be a big-time player in East Lansing and he’s a kid I could see coming in right away and contributing. Michigan State just lost Darrell Stewart Jr. and Cody White, so adding a freshman with his capabilities and pure athleticism will be huge.

Michigan State could add him to the mix from day one, joining Jayden Reed, Tre Mosley, Jalen Nailor, CJ Hayes and Laress Nelson, among others.

Next. Michigan State's all-2010s starting five. dark

Finally, White is getting the respect he deserves.
