2. Three-point shooting continues to be brutal

Coming into Monday’s game, Michigan State was struggling mightily from beyond the arc and that continued. This is something that needs to be fixed moving forward.

Sure, the fact that the 3-point line has been moved back this season has played a factor into the poor shooting, but the Spartans are still loaded with shooters and need to hit the open ones. It’s not just the contested threes that aren’t falling, it’s ones with no one within five feet of the shot-takers that are off the mark as well.

Tom Izzo said after the game that the Spartans aren’t shooting well because they have to get their legs back after a couple of weeks of slow practices after the tragic passing of Cassius Winston’s brother.

While the Spartans were only 4-of-17 from beyond the arc, they did do something that impressed me in the second half and that was get the ball inside more. They shot very well from the floor in the second half as they veered away from the 3-point line.

The Spartans are getting good looks, but the deep shots have been brutal.
