1. Cassius Winston

Must I say more? Cassius Winston is who every coach in the nation wishes they had leading their team. Tom Izzo is lucky enough to call him a Spartan.

Winston is not only a first-team All-American but he’s widely considered the best player in the nation as well as the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year. He’s a court general and one of the smartest, craziest players to ever don a State jersey. If anyone was going to lead Izzo to his second title ever, it would have to be Winston. He’s just different.

Not many players can easily say they make their team exponentially better, but Winston does just that. He’s smart with the ball, has a knack for getting to the hole and scoring on difficult attempts while making them look easy and running the fast break even though he’s not the quickest or most athletic guy out there. Oh, and he can shoot the lights out.

There’s a good chance Winston could be the National Player of the Year by the end of the season and if you asked any coach in college basketball to choose one player to build your team around in 2019-20, I’d bet about 90 percent of them would say Cassius’ name.
