10. Northwestern drought finally ends

Through the first seven seasons of the Mark Dantonio era, the Spartans dominated Northwestern. In fact, they beat the Wildcats five out of seven times and the only two defeats actually came in East Lansing by seven points or less each time.

Since that hot start against the Wildcats, the Spartans have gone ice-cold. They’ve lost three straight to Northwestern over the past three seasons and haven’t beaten the Wildcats since 2013 — there was a short two-year break in the series. Having gone that long without a win over Northwestern seems crazy, but that’s what makes this prediction so bold.

Pat Fitzgerald has had Michigan State’s number over the years but that’s all going to change in 2019 as the Spartans take to the road and travel down to Evanston.

Michigan State takes the field in front of a green and white-heavy crowd with an undefeated record on the line and it escapes with a big win. And no, they won’t need overtime this time around, beating the Wildcats by 10.
