Angelo Grose de-committed from Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago, only to commit to Michigan State football on Sunday.

On June 10, Angelo Grose made a decision that would change his life forever. He de-committed from Cincinnati and decided to schedule a visit to Michigan State, a recent offer that caught his interest.

It had been Grose’s dream to play Power Five football and he was one step closer to realizing that after a trip to East Lansing. On Sunday afternoon, he pulled the trigger and made it official that he would be a Spartan.

This didn’t come as much of a surprise since he looked green ever since he de-committed from Cincinnati, but it was a nice pickup for the 2020 class that has been heating up in recent weeks. Just last week, the Spartans landed four commitments in four days and then three more on Sunday after a big recruiting weekend.

Grose may not be the highest-rated kid on the board for the green and white, ranked the No. 1,176 player and 103rd-best cornerback in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports, but his film speaks for itself.

Not only can he blitz from the cornerback position and make opposing quarterbacks’ lives difficult, but he has lockdown talent on the outside. He stays hip-to-hip with just about every receiver he matches up with and his awareness is impressive. He plays aggressively for a 5-10, 170-pound cornerback and that’s exactly what Michigan State thrives with.

Could this be the next Josiah Scott-type of player? Like Scott, Grose isn’t ranked highly nor is his offer sheet all that impressive, but his film proves that he’s a steal.

Don’t look now, but Michigan State may have just landed its next low-three-star cornerback who is destined to be an All-Big Ten selection.
