Michigan State football is picking up commitments left and right, this time from three-star defensive end Jeff Pietrowski from Lakewood, Ohio.

Four days, four commitments.

Each day since Saturday, Michigan State football has picked up a new commitment. It started with Kyle King, a three-star defensive end who Allen Trieu tabbed as a player with elite pass-rushing ability. Then it was the nation’s No. 2 underclassman kicker Jack Olsen followed by unrated, but talented inside linebacker Cal Haladay with Nebraska and Michigan offers.

On Tuesday morning, the Spartans landed three-star defensive end Jeff Pietrowski who is listed as an inside linebacker by recruiting sites, but looks like a hybrid guy. Trieu called this kid a ‘true football player’ a couple months back.

Like the others, this commitment came out of nowhere, but Michigan State fans can’t be complaining because he fits that Mark Dantonio mold. He’s an underrated three-star commit from St. Edward in Lakewood, Ohio.

If that sounds familiar, it’s because the Spartans have had good luck snagging kids from that program like the three Dowell brothers (Michael, David and Andrew).

Pietrowski stands 6-1 and weighs in at 235 pounds which makes him an ideal candidate to play end but can also stand up as an outside linebacker. He’s listed as the No. 1,474 player and 77th-best weak-side defensive end in the class, per 247Sports. He’s also ranked the No. 53 player from the state of Ohio, holding offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Pitt, Purdue and Minnesota.

The Lakewood-native has plenty of speed off the edge whether standing up or down in a three-point stance, but he gets after the quarterback. He may not have sideline-to-sideline speed, but he’s quick off the snap and gets opposing linemen to stand straight up, beating them off the edge. This kid will fit right into Michigan State’s defense.

The Michigan State recruiting class is now up to eight commitments and it doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon.
