4. Kenny Goins is more than just a rebounder

There’s been plenty of times this season when Michigan State fans have pulled the “no, no, no… yes” line out when Kenny Goins lines up an open shot. He’s not the greatest shooter in the world, but he’s made his fair share of baskets, even improving from beyond the arc.

Still, Goins is considered a liability on the offensive end of the floor because he’s not really in there to score points, he’s in there to rebound. He’s been an improved player on defense as well, but rebounding has been his specialty this season as he’s averaging 9.6 boards per game.

On a night when Nick Ward was completely off, playing just 14 minutes because of foul trouble, Goins stepped up on both ends of the floor, proving he can be more than just a rebounder.

Goins finished with 14 points and 12 boards to lead the team, making 6-of-12 shots in 33 minutes. He also added three steals, two blocks and two assists.

Don’t sleep on Goins as a valuable contributor on both ends of the floor because he proved he can do a little of everything on Monday night.
