2. Brian Lewerke heads into 2019 with momentum

While Justin Herbert will struggle against the Spartans’ vastly-improved defense, Brian Lewerke will have himself quite the game.

In his first game back since Ohio State, Brian Lewerke will play one of his best games of the season, giving fans and coaches flashbacks to that brilliant 2017 season or even the start of this year where he impressed against Utah State and for a half against Arizona State.

The Spartans need some sort of uptick on the offensive side of the ball and a healthier Lewerke should provide that. When healthy, he’s the Spartans’ best quarterback option, by a long-shot, and he could have himself a day against an Oregon defense which has struggled to stop the pass this season.

If there was ever a game to get this kid’s confidence back and head into the 2019 season with some momentum, this is it.

Oregon will struggle to slow Lewerke as his shoulder will no longer hold him back and he’ll have plenty of zip on the ball. Expect big games from Cody White and Darrell Stewart to help him out as he bounces back to pass for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
