Michigan State Football: LB commit Luke Fulton earns 4-star status
Michigan State football’s 2019 linebacker pledge Luke Fulton has been bumped up in the rankings by 247Sports, given a four-star rating.
There’s a new four-star in town and he goes by the name Luke Fulton. This is someone Michigan State fans are going to want to get to know over the next year, or so, as he transitions from his senior year at Cardinal Mooney in Youngstown, Ohio, to East Lansing.

After a strong start to his senior season, national pundits are also getting to know the name and 247Sports even bumped him up in the rankings to No. 272 overall and No. 9 in the state of Ohio.
Usually rankings don’t mean much, but this is a move many people thought should have already happened after watching his film. He’s an aggressive blitzing linebacker who has speed to chase down ball-carriers and he can also drop back in coverage.
Fulton is one of those high-energy linebackers who thrive in Michigan State’s system. He’s cut from the same cloth as Joe Bachie and can play both inside and outside linebacker, making him a versatile threat, which Mark Dantonio has to love.
Speaking of Dantonio, he always just seems to find these diamonds in the rough and Fulton is no exception. He was an underrated three-star prospect from Ohio, overlooked by some of the bigger schools and he got attention from the Spartans and couldn’t turn down an offer.
Now that he’s earned four-star status, he’ll be one of the premier recruits in the Spartans’ 2019 class and he could be a guy who sees the field early on.
