1. Mark Dantonio won’t take Central lightly

As previously mentioned, Mark Dantonio took to his weekly press conference to talk about the upcoming matchup with Central Michigan and he made sure to give the Chippewas credit for being a thorn in the Spartans’ side over the years.

Central may not have its best team in the past 10 years, sitting at just 1-3 with a 31-7 loss to Kansas under its belt, but the Chippewas always have that knack for pulling off the upset. In fact, it was just two seasons ago when they beat No. 22 Oklahoma State in Stillwater to shock the nation. Upsets happen all the time, and this could be one of those instances, but not under Dantonio’s watch.

The head coach has already seen his team give up 31 points in a Week 1 scare against Utah State and he’s not going to let his guys get big heads and overlook the Chippewas who could turn things around at any moment.

Plus, Dantonio knows these guys for Central take the Michigan State game very seriously, treating it like the Spartans treat Michigan or Ohio State. Some of these guys were passes over by the Spartans, and they haven’t forgotten.

Dantonio will keep his team in check and never let them get too high on Saturday. That level-headedness will lead to a comfortable win.
