According to some recruiting services, Carey Jr. is the No. 1 player in the class, but per the 247Sports‘ composite, he’s No. 2 overall as well as the second-best center, if you can believe that. It’d be hard to argue that he’s not the top player in the 2019 class, especially by how dominant he looks on his highlight tapes.

If there was ever a “top player” who Tom Izzo was targeting that fans should feel good about, it’s Carey Jr. No, he’s nowhere near a lock to be a Spartan, but he’s incredible high on the green and white and Izzo just paid him another visit this week.

Carey Jr. took an official to Michigan State last winter and there’s a chance the Spartans could get another one, per the new NCAA recruiting rules.
