1. Hungry to prove people wrong after bye week

There’s something to be said about a bye week that comes at the perfect time. Michigan State was reeling after a tough loss to Arizona State and the coaching staff needed this bye to help the players clear their minds and reiterate “the Spartan way”.

Michigan State got away from their usual ‘chip-on-the-shoulder’ play and let the tough road conditions get in their head against the Sun Devils. Against Utah State, the Spartans expected to walk through the Aggies, but they were given what should have been a wake-up call.

Fortunately, the true wake-up call was at Arizona State and it gave the green and white plenty of time to reflect on what went wrong and what needs to change for the 2018 goals to come to fruition.

Also on the good news side of things, it’s early. Michigan State is just two games in and there are still 10 left to make a mark on the conference title race and even the College Football Playoff standings.
