1. Mark Dantonio’s loyalty may eventually cost him his job

No, this also isn’t a joke. People were quick to call for Mark Dantonio’s head after getting out-coached by Herm Edwards, stating that the head coach may lose his job eventually if he continues to show loyalty, to a fault, to his assistants.

The fact of the matter is this: Dantonio and his staff were out-coached by Edwards and his staff. This is no secret. The offensive play-calling was horrid, clock management and timeout usage late in the game was awful and Edwards seemed to out-smart the MSU coaches time after time.

It’s perfectly fine to say Dantonio is loyal to a fault and even criticize him as a head coach from time to time, but to say his job may be on the line because he’s employing Dave Warner is silly.

Warner continues to prove he has a lack of imagination in the play-calling department, but if Dantonio didn’t want the plays to be run, he’d make his own changes. The Spartans still ended up with 300 yards passing and the offensive line halted anything on the ground.

Dantonio’s job is safe for as long as he wants to stick around, so stop with the ‘loyalty may cost him his job’ talk. It’s just ridiculous.
