Michigan State football’s 2019 recruiting class vaults to No. 3 in Big Ten
Michigan State football has been red-hot on the recruiting trail lately, leading to the No. 3 ranking in the Big Ten and top 20 in the country.
First it was Devontae Dobbs, then Alante Brown followed by Brandon Wright. Anthony Williams Jr. followed suit early on Friday afternoon and Tre Mosley and Michael Fletcher ended the string of six commitments in the span of a few days for Michigan State football.

It didn’t take long for the Spartans to go from No. 10 in the Big Ten recruiting rankings to No. 7 and then as of Friday evening, they were No. 3 in the conference for 2019.
Yes, a seven spot jump in the 247Sports composite team rankings — not too shabby for a team that just lost a commitment from four-star quarterback Dwan Mathis.
Mark Dantonio continues to show that he may not get the highest-rated players, but he has a magnetic-like draw for under-the-radar three-star prospects. He did, however, land five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs and four-star defensive end Michael Fletcher, breaking his mold slightly.
Not only did the class jump everyone but Michigan and Ohio State in the Big Ten recruiting rankings, but the Spartans went from the low-30s nationally to No. 17 in the country.
Turns out, it pays to win 10-plus games. Who would have thought Michigan State would be in this position as a potential top-10 team heading into 2018 with a top-20 recruiting class for 2019 after that 3-9 debacle in 2016.

The Spartans are in great shape and should close the class out on a high note. They’ve already landed three of their ‘Plan A’ targets in Julian Barnett, Fletcher and Dobbs. Clearly NFL dreams are created in East Lansing.
