Michigan State football landed its third commitment of the last two days in three-star 2019 all-purpose back Anthony Williams Jr.

In the words of the great DJ Khaled: “Another one”. Michigan State landed yet another commitment in its 2019 class on Friday afternoon in three-star running back Anthony Williams Jr. from Chicago, Ill.

Williams Jr. becomes the second commitment in the past two days from the city of Chicago and the third player to verbally pledge to Michigan State’s 2019 class in the same span — joining Alante Brown (three-star receiver from Chicago) and Brandon Wright (three-star running back from Ohio). He also may not be the last pledge for the Spartans on Friday.

While he’s the second running back to commit to the Spartans in the past two days, he is more of an all-purpose back compared to Wright’s hard-nosed running style.

The Chicago-native has a sharp first cut and can hit the hole hard, making him tough to bring down. He’s also tough to swallow up in the open field and he can often make defenders look silly.

Mark Dantonio and the staff loved what they saw from him at Michigan State’s camp on June 20 and he earned an offer on the spot. He has been blowing up this summer and he can earn some early playing time right away — especially with the new freshman redshirt rule.

Williams Jr. is the No. 939 player in the 2019 class and 62nd-best running back, according to 247Sports. He’s the Spartans’ 14th commitment in 2019.
