Saturday evening’s Michigan State spring game will mark the beginning of a high-expectation campaign for the Spartans.

If you’re feeling that itch for football, Saturday’s annual spring game will provide some relief. Michigan State finished the 2017 season with a 10-3 record, quite the rebound from a 3-9 record in 2016 with plenty of issues both on and off the field.

Mark Dantonio proved to be one of the best coaches in the nation, flipping the script and earning yet another double-digit win season in East Lansing. He also reached 100 career wins with Michigan State with the Holiday Bowl victory over Washington State.

The veteran head coach returns an uber-talented squad, led by junior quarterback Brian Lewerke who could be a star in 2018.

LJ Scott also returns after a monster game in the Holiday Bowl and he’s gearing up to be the workhorse back. Felton Davis III, Cody White and Darrell Stewart Jr. will be back to form one of the best receiving corps in the country.

Defensively, fans may witness the best unit since the 2013 Rose Bowl-winning squad, led by middle linebacker Joe Bachie. This unit could give the Spartans’ solid offense some problems on Saturday evening.
