Michigan State Basketball: Score predictions vs. Maryland in Week 12
As Michigan State basketball prepares for Maryland on Sunday afternoon, they will have to also deal with a world full of distractions.
It almost seems trivial to talk about basketball games this week, but as long as Michigan State is taking the court, we will be providing as much coverage as we can.
Must Read: Tom Izzo denies rumors about looming retirement
Michigan State is coming off a win against Wisconsin on Friday night amid rumors of the potential retirement of Tom Izzo. The team was able to fight off the distractions in front of an Izzone that was showing support for Larry Nassar victims with teal shirts. The win was Michigan State’s third in a row and it will look to win four straight against Maryland to close the week.
Will Michigan State be able to avoid an upset on the road Sunday?
Connor Muldowney: Do I think Michigan State is the better team? Absolutely, and it’s really not that close, but the Spartans will experience mental and physical fatigue against Maryland on Sunday afternoon. Winning at Maryland isn’t easy and the Spartans will find that out as they will have a huge target on their backs against an upset-hungry team. Miles Bridges will drop 20-plus for the fourth game in a row and Jaren Jackson Jr. will be impressive again, but the guard play will be shaky and Anthony Cowan will have himself a day against the Spartans.
Final Score: Michigan State 73, Maryland 76
Adam Zdroik: This will be a tough one in a number of ways. Michigan State gets a short turnaround and has to travel to Maryland, which seems a bit rough for one full day off. Maryland is in need of a win and desperate to steal one against the Spartans. If Bridges doesn’t come out firing like the last few games, this result may not be a good one. I’m still going with the clearly more talented team as the Terps are not tournament worthy without Justin Jackson.
Final Score: Michigan State 74, Maryland 73
Michael Briggs: It feels inappropriate at this time to discuss basketball given the recent events, so I’ll keep my prediction simple for this game: Michigan State will beat Maryland.
Final Score: Michigan State 76, Maryland 68

Stephen Robb: Despite the chaos surrounding the MSU program, these Spartans will rally around their coach and play a complete game. Maryland is 15-7 with a blowout loss to the Hoosiers. Michigan State will stomp on the Terrapins. Miles Bridges will go off for 25 points. Maryland does not have the horses to keep pace.
Final Score: Michigan State 88, Maryland 61
