1. The Spartans want revenge for blowout in Ann Arbor

Revenge. Have you ever lost a game in embarrassing fashion to a friend or sibling, whether it was a one-on-one sport or video game? What did you want to do the next time you played? If you’re like any competitive human being, you wanted to embarrass them right back to get sweet revenge.

Well, Michigan State is currently the brother who was embarrassed in a matchup in Ann Arbor last season. The Wolverines didn’t hold back against the Spartans, beating them 86-57 and shooting lights out en route to an important Big Ten win.

Michigan State hasn’t forgotten about that shocking defeat. Tom Izzo may say that the loss last season by 29 points doesn’t hold any weight in how the Spartans prepare for this season’s game and it’s not a rallying point, but that can’t be 100 percent true. The players surely remember and they’ve had this game circled on their calendars for a year now.
