4. Cassius Winston dishes 10 assists

You have to commend Cassius Winston on his improvement in the passing department this season. It seems as if he’s matured tenfold and his ability to find open teammates is impressive.

On the season, Winston is averaging 7.2 assists per game while also shooting a high percentage from the field, 3-point line and free throw line. The sophomore point guard has taken control of the offense and looks like much more of a steady figure running that side of the ball.

Three times this season already he has broken the 10-assist mark. The most recent came against Savannah State when he had a season-high 13. He’s going to come close to that against the Wolverines, but he will break 10, nonetheless.

Michigan State will rely on him to be a strong passer and find open teammates agains ta defense that will try to be overly aggressive. Michigan can’t afford to play off the ball much and the Wolverines’ over-aggression will lead to some backdoor cuts by Miles Bridges and Nick Ward which will, in turn, lead to alley-oops. Winston will finish with some clutch free throws late to put him at 11 points with 11 assists.
