1. Spartans cover the 16-point spread

How can a team coming off a 45-point loss cover a 16-point spread against a team hungry to make a bowl game? Well, the Spartans almost always play well after a loss under Mark Dantonio’s reign. They just come out angry and play inspired football and I’d expect them to do just that on Saturday.

It’s always kind of scary to face a team that is looking to keep its bowl hopes alive and must win in order to do so, but the Spartans just have too much talent for the Terrapins. They’re on third-string starting quarterback Max Bortenschlager and the running back duo hasn’t quite been what it was last year.

On top of that, the Terrapins have one of the worst defenses in the conference, allowing a staggering 421 yards per game. That’s not going to win you many ballgames in the Big Ten and head coach DJ Durkin knows that as a former defensive coordinator for Michigan.

The spread is at 16 points and I will say that Michigan State wins by at least 18. My score prediction was 31-13, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Spartans score more than that and put on a show for fans on Senior Day.
