After losing a tough one to Duke, Michigan State will look to rebound against Stony Brook on Sunday evening. Check out our score predictions.

Duke exposed some weaknesses in Michigan State’s game on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic and the Spartans have had some time to reflect on what happened.

Stony Brook comes to town on Sunday evening with an 0-3 record and the Seawolves should act as a scrimmage for the Spartans as they gear up for the Phil Knight Invitational next week. Will the Spartans bounce back in a big way?

Here’s what our staff believes will happen on Sunday evening.

Connor Muldowney: Stony Brook doesn’t exactly present a tough matchup for the Spartans on Sunday, but the game is still crucial for improvement. The Spartans will cut their turnovers in half, finishing with less than 10. Miles Bridges will be more aggressive in this one, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds, but won’t even need to play in the final 10 minutes. Cassius Winston cracks 10 assists again while Josh Langford gets back on track from 3-point range.

Final Score: Stony Brook 57, Michigan State 91

Michael Briggs: Michigan State had its moments against Duke, but needed a bit more Miles Bridges and a lot less Grayson Allen to defeat the Blue Devils. A much better performance on the boards would have also helped. Unfortunately for Stony Brook, the Spartans will be really locked in now for this game.

Final Score: Stony Brook 51, Michigan State 96

Adam Zdroik: Stony Brook just took UConn to the wire, so Michigan State won’t take this game lightly. Although, coming off a loss, that wasn’t going to be a problem anyway. The Seawolves aren’t a bad team, they just lack the size to deal with Nick Ward and Jaren Jackson Jr. Look for the Spartans to dominate the glass with JJJ pulling down 20 boards and Ward scoring 24 points in 22 minutes.

Final Score: Stony Brook 65, Michigan State 81

Stephen Robb: The Stony Brook Seawolves come to East Lansing on Sunday. On paper, this game looks like a sleepwalk for the Spartans. The Seawolves are a senior-laden team with a first-year head coach Jeff Boals, who was an assistant at Ohio State under Thad Matta. Michigan State will win this game, however, this Seawolves team pushed UConn down to the wire. The Spartans will allow Stony Brook to hang around but pull away in the second half.

Final Score: Stony Brook 71, Michigan State 83
