The common feeling during the time was, “How could Michigan State stop Braxton Miller?” Yet that is exactly what happened on fourth down and senior linebacker Dencios Allen stuffed Miller just shy of a first.

If not for a early season loss to Notre Dame, the Spartans could have been contenders to play in the national title game.

The Spartans jumped out to an early lead with the play of Connor Cook. However, it was running back Jeremy Langford who iced the game with a long touchdown run. Langford’s run was typical of that season, often he would break off huge runs and they would be the dagger to the opponents.

The Spartan offense came together that season after its struggles in non-conference play. It was, in my opinion, one of the most complete teams I had seen play in Michigan State history.
