1. Final Big Ten record will be 6-3

Finishing up the Big Ten with a 6-3 record would be more than ideal for the green and white. In fact, those six wins in conference play would double the total from Michigan State’s entire 2016 season. Those conference wins alone would be enough to make the Spartans bowl eligible.

If Michigan State were to finish 6-3 in conference action, which I’m predicting (call me crazy, but it’s bold), that means the Spartans will finish the season with an 8-4 record.

So what games will Michigan State end up winning? They’ll start off with a grind-it-out home victory over Iowa Saturday. It’s not going to be a pretty game, but Michigan State will make a couple more plays than the Hawkeyes.

The Spartans will lose to Michigan before traveling to Minnesota and fighting out another big victory. Indiana at home will be a high-scoring win while Northwestern could be another grind-it-out game. It will finish in the Spartans’ favor by a touchdown, though.

I’ve already predicted a Penn State upset and a loss to Ohio State on the road will follow. After that, Michigan State will take it home with wins over Maryland and Rutgers to end the year.

An 8-4 rebound year after a 3-9 campaign? That’s more than fans were expecting and it sets up a special 2018 season.
