Michigan State football has added another member to its 2018 class as three-star wide out Julian Major has committed to the green and white.

Just two days before the start of fall camp, Michigan State football received some good news from the recruiting trail. Three-star wide receiver, from the class of 2018, Julian Major had committed to Michigan State over the likes of Iowa State, Virginia, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

In fact, those schools mentioned graced his top five which was released at the end of May. He also held offers from Arkansas, Boston College and Temple, among others.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide out reigns from Pittsburgh, Penn., and was high on the Spartans’ board of receiver targets for the class.

Michigan State was one of the last teams to offer Major, extending a scholarship on May 8, only to be followed by Virginia. He attended Penn State camp just a couple of weeks ago, but apparently he wasn’t going to wait for an offer from the Nittany Lions or Pat Narduzzi’s Pittsburgh Panthers.

Major becomes the Spartans’ 15th commitment in the 2018 class and just the second receiver pledge — the other was Javez Alexander from Sandusky, Ohio. Expect the Spartans to add a couple more wide receivers in the class.

Although he’s not the biggest guy on the field, it seems like his quarterback at Penn Hills trusts him enough to toss a jump ball his way. His concentration is impressive and he makes tough catches look effortless. He is also good in the open field, constantly making defenders miss.
