Michigan State Football: 3-star 2019 QB Dwan Mathis receives offer
Michigan State football doesn’t offer many dual-threat quarterbacks, but three-star Dwan Mathis received his dream offer on Wednesday.
Not often does Mark Dantonio offer dual-threat quarterbacks, but the Michigan State coach did so on Wednesday. Three-star 2019 dual-threat Dwan Mathis from Belleville, Mich., received what he called his “dream” offer from the Spartans during a campus visit.

Mathis, just a sophomore who played for Oak Park last season, is one of the top in-state prospects in the 2019 class. He has a heck of an arm and his athleticism seems to be what sold Dantonio and the staff.
The three-star quarterback was committed to Iowa State since February before rescinding his pledge to the Cyclones on June 22. He opened up his recruitment and also a door for the Spartans to try and win him over.
If Michigan State is his dream offer, that could mean the Spartans were in contact with him while he was an Iowa State pledge and he started to second guess his choice. This was the offer he’d always been waiting for, and the in-state target finally got it.
With a 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame, Mathis could afford to add some muscle, but his height is ideal for the position at the next level. He will have no problem seeing over the line of scrimmage and as you can see by his highlights, he can toss the ball 40-50 yards with no problem. He also has impressive wheels and, moreover, can fit the ball into tight spaces between defenders.
