As someone who has had the pleasure of watching five-star wide out Donovan Peoples-Jones compete in person, I can say that he’s worth all the hype. He is a mini Calvin Johnson and I’ve seen him rise up and make catches over defenders in the same fashion.

Peoples-Jones isn’t just an in-state prospect, he’s also considered one of the top-two or three receivers in all of high school football. He’s ranked No. 6 overall and as the best wide receiver target in the 2017 class, according to the 247Sports‘ composite — which is very accurate.

The 6-foot-2, 192-pound Cass Tech star has offers from top programs such as Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

It is believed that he will be heading out of state for college ball, but the Crystal Ball is currently in favor of the Wolverines — for no rhyme or reason.

Peoples-Jones was named the top athlete in the country at last year’s The Opening in Oregon and will be a definite program-changer if he picks Michigan State.

Chances are, though, that he will end up at Ohio State or somewhere in the SEC, but he has to be the top target on the board right now.
