27. Take a picture with Sparty

If you’ve ever been to a Michigan State sporting event, you know just how well-known and liked Sparty is. The beloved mascot has been a fixture of sideline antics for years and he’s always free for photo ops. If he comes near your section, make sure to get a photo with him.

However, don’t mistake Sparty for Johnny Spirit as the two aren’t on similar celebrity levels. Sparty is an A-lister while Johnny Spirit is famous on campus, but not known around the nation, let alone the Big Ten.

Multiple times, Sparty has been considered one of the most iconic mascots in the nation, and there’s really no comparison. He looks like a steroid-ridden muscle head, but I swear he’s as friendly as they come.

It’s not easy being Sparty, though, as the students who slip into that costume have to be in incredible shape as well as be as energetic as anyone.

Catch him at a sporting event, take a picture. Or, heck, if you are having a wedding or any type of party, you can hire him to make a guest appearance and that way you can force your family and friends to embrace the world-famous mascot — yes, even Michigan fans in attendance.
