Flip season is upon us, and Michigan State football might be in danger of losing a good chunk of its 2026 class commits — as it already has.

Jonathan Smith is on the hot seat and that’s forced a couple of top commits to look elsewhere for better situations. Braylon Hodge, a four-star linebacker from Colorado, and four-star receiver Tyren Wortham have both decommitted in the past month while four-star in-state wide receiver Samson Gash is taking an Alabama official visit and he just received an offer from Wisconsin.

It’s safe to say that Gash is a legitimate flip candidate like Hodge and Wortham were.

Well, according to Midwestern recruiting expert Allen Trieu, Michigan State has another major flip candidate committed to its 2026 class. This time, it looks like three-star safety commit Jordan Vann could be looking elsewhere for a new home.

Vann received an offer from Wisconsin and Trieu shared that he has become a popular flip candidate in the 2026 class. This would be another tough loss for the Spartans if Vann were to entertain the Badgers here, especially after they announced that Luke Fickell would be returning next season.

The same promise can’t be made regarding Smith with just three games left in the year.

Michigan State is hoping to close the year out on a high note, and if the Spartans can win two out of the final three games, at least, they’ll likely be able to hold on to most of their 2026 class commits. That’s a big if, however.

Vann is ranked the No. 101 safety in the class as well as the No. 45 prospect from Ohio, per 247Sports. And he could soon be on the move.
