Happy Julius Avent Day to all who celebrate. Michigan State fans are hoping for some good news on Wednesday as the four-star power forward from New Jersey revealed he would be making his college decision.
Avent has taken all but one official visit, and that one happens to be Seton Hall, which is one of his three finalists. He was supposed to visit Seton Hall this weekend.
However, plans have changed and he canceled his official.
Now, he’ll be choosing between Michigan State, Seton Hall, and Xavier on Wednesday. If you read between the lines, it seems like Seton Hall is out considering he canceled his official to make a decision (stranger things have happened in recruiting). The decision also comes at an interesting time since Tom Izzo and his staff just paid him a visit last week.
The Spartans are looking like the favorites to land him, especially after a hoops insider teased the good news on X with an Izzo GIF.
Well, the big day is finally here, and fans will be checking social media throughout the work day to see if Avent chose the Spartans. What time is the announcement?
Julius Avent announces commitment time
According to ZagsBlog, Avent is going to be announcing on Wednesday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. ET. There’s no word yet about a live stream, but I’m sure it’ll be all over social media the second he makes his announcement official.
Although there are no predictions on 247Sports as of early Wednesday morning, it feels like Avent is trending toward the green and white.
Carlos Medlock Jr. and Avent would be a heck of a start to the 2026 class.
