College football fans were treated to one heck of a weekend of action as there were some crazy upsets as well as some thrillers that went down to the wire involving ranked teams.

The new college football rankings will get another makeover on Sunday.

BYU lost arguably the game of the year against UCF in The Bounce House and its undefeated season came to a screeching halt in an overtime thriller. The No. 2 Cougars did everything in their power to lose with boneheaded mistake after boneheaded mistake but a blocked field goal with no time left in regulation ended what was a whacky 60 minutes of action. Old friend Scott Frost and UCF got the last laugh in overtime.

The Cougars weren’t the only top-10 team to lose on Saturday in upset fashion as Texas Tech (who somehow had one first-place AP vote) was dominated by Cincinnati.

The craziness didn’t stop there as No. 11 Tennessee was shocked by South Carolina and one of the greatest field storms of all time ensued.

Ole Miss and Texas played in the most anticipated game of the day with the Longhorns racing out to a 24-3 lead before blowing it and needing an 80-yard fourth-quarter drive in six plays to go back ahead and then they added a field goal to go ahead 34-24 with a little over two minutes left. That didn’t stop Ole Miss from coming back again with a field goal and a recovered onside kick. Texas locked down defensively in their own zone and shut the door on a potential upset.

Wisconsin also pulled off a huge upset of No. 16 UCLA in Madison, 24-7, as Luke Fickell looks to have won the fanbase back. We may see a ranked Badgers team this week for the first time since Week 2 of the 2023 season. It’s been over three (!!) years, but this team is playing really well.

Oh, and UCLA dominated Michigan State but we won’t get into that.

College football fans got spoiled on Saturday and the AP Top 25 rankings will reflect that.

What will Sunday’s Week 9 AP Top 25 rankings look like?

Multiple top 10 teams fell yet again so don’t be surprised by a major shakeup.

  1. Miami (1)
  2. Ohio State (3)
  3. Notre Dame (4)
  4. Georgia (5)
  5. Indiana (6)
  6. UCLA (9)
  7. BYU (2)
  8. Utah (10)
  9. Kentucky (12)
  10. Texas (19)
  11. Ole Miss (7)
  12. Alabama (13)
  13. Texas Tech (8)
  14. LSU (18)
  15. Wake Forest (17)
  16. Houston (14)
  17. Tennessee (11)
  18. Florida (20)
  19. Iowa (15)
  20. Boise State (21)
  21. Oklahoma State (NR)
  22. Missouri (22)
  23. SMU (23)
  24. Northwestern (24)
  25. Arizona (25)

BYU will see a healthy drop after losing to an unranked team but Ole Miss will still flirt with the top 10 because it nearly pulled off a comeback victory on the road against the No. 19 team in the country. Texas Tech should probably fall further, but the number of teams ranked in the 10-20 range that fell will prevent that.

And like we talked about earlier, Wisconsin may jump into the rankings for the first time in what feels like a decade (really three years). I think they finish a few votes shy of Arizona for that 25th spot.

These rankings are starting to get almost impossible to project.
