From one "State" to another, Tre Holloman has found his new home.
The soon-to-be senior point guard from Minnesota entered the transfer portal on April 1, much to the shock and dismay of the Spartan fanbase. About a week later, he revealed which schools were recruiting him and it was the likes of NC State, Baylor, and North Carolina, but he ultimately landed on one of those after some deliberation.
According to reports, as well as his Instagram, Holloman has committed to NC State.

The 6-2 junior averaged 9.1 points and 3.7 assists per game this season. Scored a season-high 20 points on Michigan in March. https://t.co/k4Tlhxi4LN pic.twitter.com/0z3LMp5ejS
From Tom Izzo to Will Wade? Interesting move, but it feels like he's going to be the point guard to kickstart that turnaround in Raleigh. The Wolfpack are an interesting fit for him.
Holloman became an easy fan favorite in East Lansing last year when he stood up to Zach Edey and that carried over into this season as he had a larger role and averaged 9.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. His shooting numbers dipped a bit, but he was still fun to watch and was one of the best backup guards in the Big Ten.
The junior's big 'fan favorite' moment came when two Michigan players were standing on the Spartan logo at midcourt on Senior Day and he shoved them out of the way to protect tradition.
Unfortunately, that would be his last home game in the green and white and we didn't know it at the time, but Izzo letting him kiss the logo for standing up for tradition was symbolic.
Holloman's departure hurts but at least he's not staying in the Big Ten and we can root for him to succeed from a distance.
