This past weekend wasn't just massive for the football program, but Tom Izzo and the basketball program held their annual Grind Week, and hosted several top recruits.

The Spartans had some big names on campus for Grind Week such as Xavier Tillman, Miles Bridges, Jaren Jackson Jr., Gary Harris, Jase Richardson, Kalin Lucas, and several others, but in the recruiting landscape, four-star point guard commit Carlos Medlock Jr. was on campus with four-star guard Jasiah Jervis and four-star forward Quinn Costello.

It was a big recruiting weekend for the basketball program, and you just know Grind Week set Michigan State apart for guys like Jervis and Costello.

One of the best things to come from the recruiting weekend was a picture that Izzo took with Jervis. Each recruit puts on the green and white during their visit and takes a picture with Izzo in front of his 2000 National Championship trophy.

Izzo is usually smiling with the recruit casually, but this picture stood out. He got some youthfulness back, it seems. Good find here by Andrew Cumbow.

You'd have to think this was Jervis' idea, but Izzo totally leaned into it and had some fun. You love to see him smiling and happy during the offseason, because when the season begins, there's not a ton of smiling going on, unless it's Senior Day or when he's cutting down the nets.

Michigan State fans have seen a lot of version of Tom Izzo. This may be a new one. A flexing-for-a-picture-with-a-recruit Izzo may be my favorite version yet. Well, besides cutting-down-the-nets Izzo.
