If you're a big fan of Tom Izzo (which most of us are), you probably logged on to Twitter (X) on Tuesday afternoon and had a huge grin on your face.

The Hall of Fame head coach spoke to the media on Tuesday and revealed that he has no plans to hang it up any time soon and that he's "more fired up" now than he was a couple of years ago.

For the doubters of Izzo, that is an immediate silencer.

Not having a plan to retire and being more fired up now at the age of 69 than he was a couple of years ago is a massive development and it shows that he still has that deep desire to succeed and potentially win a second national title.

The chase for No. 2 has long been talked about as his final checklist item. He's done everything from make Final Fours, win a national title, win Big Ten titles, play in some amazing venues, and schedule elite teams in non-conference play while winning every award in the book, so the last thing he has to do to consider himself one of the best coaches of all time would be win a second national championship.

From the sounds of it, Izzo has no plans to call it quits and will probably be coaching for at least a few more years. We saw Roy Williams and Coach K do it into their 70s, so don't count Izzo out.

Michigan State fans have to be pretty happy with this news.
