Every week, Michigan State football fans dread the release of the availability report just hours before each game because it usually means bad news.
This week is no different.
Michigan State is gearing up to face the No. 3 team in the country on the road, and the Spartans are going to be without 15 players.
No, that’s not a typo. The Spartans are going to be without 15 players who are either “out” for Saturday’s game or out for the season. Emmett Matasovsky of Spartan Shadows shared the availability report on Saturday afternoon, posting about Aidan Chiles’ availability.
Get your fingers and toes out, Spartans are down a lot of players. No Aidan Chiles listed, so he can play today.

It was already reported earlier in the week that Chiles was likely available for Saturday’s game, but the staff could opt to give him an extra week of rest after suffering an injury in back-to-back weeks. It would be wise to sit him against a top-five defense on the road with four linemen out, but we’ll see what they decide to do with the QB1 spot.
And yes, you read that correctly, Michigan State is out four offensive linemen with starting experience. Ashton Lepo is now out for the year along with Luka Vincic and Kristian Phillips is a new addition to the “out” category this week. He joins Stanton Ramil.
Anelu Lafaele is also out for the season which is another new development after seeing him in a walking boot with crutches following the Nebraska loss.
To make matters even worse for the Spartans, Indiana is only down two players.
That’s right, a 3-3 team on a three-game skid with no end in sight is down 15 guys while the No. 3 team in the country fresh off its best win is only down two. This could get ugly.
